Instant Messenging

What's all this about Instant Messenging?

In addition to the regular chat rooms, you can IM other people on the site with a small application that runs underneath the left hand menu. You can add a user to your Instant Messenger window from just about anywhere that you can see their profile.

They don't seem to be answering. What's wrong?

At the moment, if the person you're messaging doesn't have their messenger open, they won't see your message. Yeah, we know, it sucks. We're working on ways to overcome this flaw, but the messaging application wasn't written by us, and we don't have the source code to it. Still, we're working on it.

Chat

How can I tell the difference between men and women in the chat?

You have to go view the user's profile. We know this is a pain in the backside, but we have a new version of the software that supports icons to distinguish between the sexes. Unfortunately, we're yet to finish the code that integrates it with the dating site - it's kinda complex. It should be done soon though!

So who's this "admin" guy anyway?

It's either Cameron or Simon, usually it's Cameron. There's no need to be afraid, we only ban people who're punishingly stupid, which we'd like to think is something you'd all actively approve of us doing anyway.

This document is being worked on continually, more answers to come soon!
